A week from Saturday, St. Anne’s Church parking lot will again host a special recycling event. While it’s not a church run fundraiser, the organizer makes a donation to the parish.
Here are the details on what items are accepted, and which are free or what fees are charged.
The event will run Saturday, August 2nd, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. The organizer does not accept paint, chemicals, light bulbs, household batteries or smoke detectors. (And they no longer list furniture.)
For residents with Transfer Station permits wondering when the Town’s Household Hazardous Waste &CRT Collection Day is this year, mark your calendars for October 18, 2025.
At the August event, the collector encourages donations of old or new bicycles of any sort and size for reuse. Mini bikes and mopeds are also accepted — even ones not in working condition. (If you are unable to bring a bike, you can arrange a time for them to swing by and pick it up.)
For no fee, you can also recycle keyboards, wires, cell phones, and car/boat batteries.
You will have to pay to have the following items recycled — cash or check only:
- Small electronic items for $5 each: computer tower, scanner, VCR, printer, copier, DVD player, stereo equipment, lighting, vacuum, answering machine, fax machine, speaker, CD player, circuit board, radio, record player, modem, word processor, fan, video equipment, game console, Xbox, tape player, typewriter (anything with a plug and more).
- TVs:
- 18-26″ flat panel/monitors – $25
