The Southborough Library is continuing its monthly volunteer session with teens interested in supporting good causes.
The Library’s TLT Program allows 6th-12th graders to get volunteer credit while helping to “make the world a happier place”. Most months volunteers complete a project that will be donated to nonprofit groups or shared with the community. (It’s usually a craft project.) But occasionally they hold a brainstorming session for future planning.
The Library is holding both types of sessions this summer.
Participation doesn’t require a monthly commitment or pre-registration.
For the next event, volunteers will repeat a popular past program:
Teen & tween volunteers are invited to make Lego Kits with donated Legos to be given to local kids in the foster system. Make a fun example of something kiddos could make with the Legos in the baggies we make. For grades 6-12. No registration required. Attending this program can be counted towards volunteer credit if participants have filled out a volunteer application.
Interested volunteers can drop in this Monday, July 28th from 3:30 – 5:00 pm. The meeting will take place on the Library’s main floor.
For August, the program, which appears to be in midst of rebranding to the “Teen Leadership Team” invites volunteers to a session with snacks in an effort to pick their brains:
Teen & Tween volunteers are invited to this month’s Teen Leadership Team meet up: food for thought! Share ideas for events, fundraising, marketing, and more for the upcoming school year. Volunteers will be rewarded with snacks and drinks.
That program will take place on Tuesday, August 12th in the Eaton Meeting Room from 4:30 – 5:30 pm.
The free programs are sponsored by The Friends of the Southborough Library.
