Friday evening, the downtown art studio will hold another art reception. The event will feature works by local painter Cristina Farrèr.
The community is invited to the reception from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, August 1st. It will be held at in the gallery at the Apothecary Artists Studio & Gallery, 11 Main Street.
On Facebook, Apothecary Artists posted that the “Florescence” titled exhibit opened on July 11th, but the “Opening Reception” is this week. The gallery will also be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and by appointment.
On Instagram, the Marlborough artist describes herself as a “Self-taught artist, who creates strikingly bold, and exquisite botanicals in acrylics. Her flowers look alive!” On her bio website, she further details:
Cristina Farrèr enjoys exploring new techniques. She works in acrylics on a variety of canvas sizes. She enjoys laying paint using everything from brushes to fingers, bubble wrap to spatulas. Each painting involves a complex layering process. Flowers are her constant theme of choice.
The website emphasizes that choice with the following sentiment attributed to Luther Burbank:
Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are the sunshine, the food, and the medicine to the mind
The Facebook event for the reception features another example from the exhibit:
The artists’ works will be on exhibit through August 28th. (While attending the exhibit, you can also check out Apothecary Artists’ “Emporium” gift shop.)
