If you enjoy hearing a good (true) story told well, you’ll want to book a ticket for an upcoming event hosted by The Southborough History & Arts Center.

The “Crossroads” event is promoted as a Moth-style event featuring StorySLAM champs.

For readers who aren’t familiar with those terms — the podcast and competitions feature people recalling an experience from their own lives, in front of a live audience. As The Moth puts it, “stories are true, as remembered by the storyteller”.

Unlike the NSBORO Schools Story Bridge program that coaches first time storytellers from our community each year, this event will feature several successful, experienced storytellers. It is promoted as a chance to “Hear Storytelling Pros Share Powerful Stories”.

“Crossroads: A night of storytelling” will take place on Saturday, May 16th at 7:00 pm. SHAC’s website touts it as the first Moth-style event in Southborough.

Weber has recruited five other “notable Boston-area storytellers (and Moth StorySLAM winners)” to share the mic: Chris Bell, Whitney Connelly, Harold Cox, Iman Moawad, and Don Picard. Plus, “some community tellers” will take part.

During intermission, attendees can “mingle with the storytellers” while enjoying refreshments.

Tickets are $40 each or $35 for members of the Southborough History & Arts Center. To purchase tickets, click here.
