The week in ARHS sports

[Results from last week’s competitions, media highlights, and what’s on tap this week in Algonquin Regional High School varsity sports.]

ARHS Girls Volleyball may have gotten their mojo back. The team broke their 4 game losing streak. The Titans won both matches last week, 3-0 to Grafton and 3-1 to Notre Dame. That updates their record to an even 4-4.

Below are highlights Photographer Jeff Slovin posted on Instagram from win over Notre Dame:

For other Titans teams, last week wasn’t a good one.

Gonk Football suffered their first loss of the season, 6-13 to Ashland.

Boys Golf‘s team record is now 4-7 after two more losses last week to Nashoba and Westborough.

Field Hockey added three more losses last week, updating their record to 1-7. The latest losses were to Nashoba (0-6), Bishop Feehan High (1-2), and Concord-Carlisle (0-4). According to a post by Slovin, the Titans used the latter game to promote Breast Cancer Awareness:

In ARHS Cross Country, the teams competed in a meet against Shrewsbury last Wednesday. The Boys won but the Girls lost. Last Monday, I posted that ARHS Cross Country teams would be competing in the rescheduled MSTCA Frank Kelley XC Invitational in Wrentham on October 3rd. Instead, the Boys team competed at the MSTCA Bay State Twilight Meet (also in Wrentham). The results show the school came in 5th place for Varsity “B” teams competing in the Men’s 5,000 meter run. The Girls team wasn’t listed as having competed at either event.

This Sunday, both teams are scheduled to compete at the MSTCA Bob Glennon Twilight Invitational in East Falmouth.

Girls Soccer tied Auburn 1-1 last week before losing in a 0-2 shutout to Westborough. They now stand at 3-2-3. Slovin posted pics from the Westborough “battle”:
