Saturday, October 25, 2025
- Hazardous Waste Day (9:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Public Works Yard (downhill from Transfer Station): Southborough will host Household Hazardous Waste Day where residents can safely dispose of items like pesticides, auto batteries, solvents, and more. A valid Transfer Station sticker is required to participate, and fees apply for TV and computer monitor disposal. For details, see dedicated post.
- “Team Odessa” Petition (9:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Transfer Station: Community members who helped support a family from Ukraine relocate to Southborough are asking the public to sign a petition to help their efforts to get the family’s soon-to-expire Temporary Protected Status visas renewed.. - Library Halloween Party at Fay (10:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Fay School Primary School: Fay School is again hosting the Southborough Library’s annual Halloween party for kids. Includes a story time, costume parade, and concert. No registration required. For details, see dedicated post.
- Spooky Golf (10:00 am – 8:00 pm) @ Trombetta’s Farm, Marlborough: A mini-golf and ice cream fundraiser for SOS (Southborough Organization for Schools). For details, see dedicated post.
- Art Reception for “Evolution of a Memory” (1:00 – 3:00 pm) @ Apothecary Artists, 11 Main St: Opening reception for the Art Exhibition by Donna Merrell. For details, click here.
- Trunk or Treat (3:00 – 6:00 pm) @ Woodward School parking lot and the Public Safety Building: The annual parade and costume party at the fire station, combined with the Town’s trick or treating event (at parked car “trunks”). For details, see dedicated post.

- Spooky Golf (10:00 am – 8:00 pm) @ Trombetta’s Farm, Marlborough: A mini-golf and ice cream fundraiser for SOS (Southborough Organization for Schools). For details, see dedicated post.
- Pumpkin Stroll (6:00 – 8:00pm) @ Stone wall around the Old Burial Ground (Common Street and St. Mark’s Street): The public is invited to place their decorated pumpkins on the wall for the community to enjoy this Sunday evening before 6pm for the community to enjoy. There will also be free refreshments, and collection drives for the Food Pantry and Diaper Drive. For details, see dedicated post.

- Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
- Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Ages 2-5 are invited for stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required. For details, see related post.
- Knitting Club & Quilting Club (1:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Weekly opportunity for senior crafters to work on their projects in a social setting, including knitting, sewing, cross stitching, needle point. For details, see related post.
- Reading Buddies (3:30 – 4:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: Registration is required for this program (weekly Oct 20th through Dec 15th) that pairs readers in training (ages 5+) with teen reading buddy volunteers. For details, see dedicated post.
- Special Town Meeting (6:30 pm) @ Trottier Middle School, 49 Parkerville Rd: All registered Southborough voters are encouraged to attend to vote on decisions about zoning bylaws, Town spending and more. For details, see related coverage.

- Bracelets with OutMetrowest (time) @ Southborough Library: Registration is required for this event for teens 12-18 yrs old .Join a Peer Leader from OutMetrowest in making a chainmail bracelet! OUT MetroWest builds communities where LGBTQ+ youth thrive, with free programs that connect LGBTQ+ youth with supportive peers and LGBTQ+ adult role models. For details, click here.
- Poetry Workshop (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level: Bring in five copies of original poetry to share. The group will provide supportive feedback. If you don’t have a poem, come anyway and share your insights. (Meets twice monthly.)
- Shelf Help Discussion Group (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: A community book discussion group run by SYFS with the Southborough Library. This month’s focus is Where to Draw the Line: How to Set Healthy Boundaries Every Day by Anne Katherine, M.A. Members should have pre-registered to participate (but pre-reading isn’t required). - Baby/Toddler Storytime (11:00 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: A weekly program for ages 0-2 years with their parents/caregivers. Each session will include puppets and music. No registration required. For details, see related post.
- Therapy Dog Session (3:30 – 4:30 pm) @ Southborough Library Teen Room: People who want to enjoy some relaxation time with Pat and Phoenix, a licensed therapy dog, are invited to join us. Adults, teens, and children are all welcome.
- Read to a Dog (4:30 – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library Eaton Room: Children age 5 and older with some reading ability are invited to read to a certified therapy dog. Each child will have a 15 minute time slot to read a book of their choice. Please email Kim at kivers@southboroughma.gov to reserve a time.

- Kids Jam (11:00 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Newborns through preschoolers are invited to dance and sing. No registration necessary. Sponsored by the Friends of the Southborough Library. For details, see related post.

- Trick or Treating: In Southborough, the Halloween holiday is celebrated on the day of the holiday (regardless of day of the week). There aren’t official rules, but Trick or Treaters typically start ringing doorbells around dusk.

- Scouting for Food Route Selection (10:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Pilgrim Church: Families of town scouts can pick up their bags with flyers and their routes for promoting Scouting for Food this weekend. For details, see dedicated post.
- Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Semi-monthly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.
