Friday, November 28, 2025
- Town Holiday Break: Town offices and facilities, and the schools are all closed for a Thanksgiving break.
- Black Friday: I encourage residents to consider Southborough businesses when you think about your holiday shopping. Click here for my Shop Local directory.
- SFA Christmas Tree Sales begin (1:00 – 8:00 pm) @ 32 Cordaville Road: The first day of the annual Christmas Tree Sale by Southborough Firefighters. The sale will continue daily (with differing hours) until they sell out. For details, see last year’s post and stay tuned for this year’s.
- Holiday Ladies Night (6:00 – 8:30 pm) @ Gulbankian Florist, 40 Mt Vickery Rd: There is a fee to attend this event with refreshments, raffles, shopping, and discounts. Proceeds from $5 tickets will be split between the Southborough Food Pantry and the Community Free Fridge. For details, click here.

- Town Holiday Hours: The Transfer Station reopens for regular hours. The Library remains closed through the weekend.
- Small Business Saturday: I encourage the community to make a special effort to support at least one Southborough small businesses on this special shopping day, but also throughout the holidays. Click here for my Shop Local directory.
- Cub Scouts Wreath & Candle Sale (9:00 am –3:00 pm) @ Transfer Station: Scouts will be selling wreaths for $20 and boxes of Hanukkah candles for $15.

- Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
- Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Ages 2-5 are invited for stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required. For details, see related post.
- Knitting Club & Quilting Club (1:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Weekly opportunity for senior crafters to work on their projects in a social setting, including knitting, sewing, cross stitching, needle point. For details, see related post.
- Reading Buddies (3:30 – 4:30 pm) @ Southborough Library: Registration is required for this program (weekly Oct 20th through Dec 15th) that pairs readers in training (ages 5+) with teen reading buddy volunteers. For details, see dedicated post.
- Virtual Cooking (5:30 – 7:30 pm) @ zoom: Part of the Southborough Library’s free cooking lesson series. This month make Noodles from Scratch. Pre-registration is required. For details, click here.

- Virtual Author Talk (2:00 – 3:00) @ online: Registration is required to take part in the free live talk with Q&A, “Scheming Wives and High-Stakes Hilarity with Author Sue Hincenbergs”. - Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
- Glory Time (10:30 – 11:30 am) @ Southborough Library: Preschoolers are invited to listen to some doggie stories and hang out with Glory, one of the library’s favorite therapy dogs. No registration required.
- TrailBlazers meeting (3:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: The group for active seniors holds a monthly meeting to plan upcoming activities. Any seniors interested in helping or learning more are welcome to join them. For more details, see related post.
- TLT: Holiday Cards (4:30 – 5:30 pm) @ Southborough Library Main Floor: The library holds a monthly Teen Library Team volunteer program for ages 10-18 to make projects for others in need. This month volunteers will make holiday cards for seniors, see related post.
- Meditations for the Nations (4:30 – 5:00 pm) @ St. Mark’s Church Parish Hall, 27 Main St: The church invites community members troubled by “division, unrest, and fear in our country” to share concerns with others and take part in guided and silent meditation. The bi-weekly program is open to all. For details, see dedicated post.
- NSBORO Caregiver Math Info Night (6:00 – 7:00pm) @ Lincoln St School, Northborough: Parents/caregivers of students in Northborough or Southborough public elementary schools are invited to learn more about the districts’ new K-5 Math Curriculum (Eureka Math² ). For details, see dedicated post.
- Southborough Rotary Club (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Southborough. New and prospective members are always welcome. (Held on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month.)
- Friends of the Library Meeting (7:30 – 8:45 pm) @ zoom: Monthly meeting of board members and volunteers to discuss funding library requests and planning for upcoming fundraisers. - Girl Scout Holiday Sing-along (6:00 – 7:00 pm) @ Community House Lawn: Free annual event for all families in Southborough. An old-fashioned holiday sing-along with some modern touches. Capped off with hot cocoa and treats. (Participants are encouraged to bring a gift to donate to Project Just Because.)

- Annual Kids Shop (9:00 am – 2:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center, 9 Cordaville Hall: An annual Southborough tradition. Boy Scout Troop 92 provides a safe haven for kids to do their own holiday shopping. While waiting, adults can enjoy a bake sale and coffee. For details, see dedicated post.
- Christmas Bazaar (10:00 am – 2:00 pm) @ St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 27 Main Street: Featuring the White Elephant and craft sales, a silent auction, basket raffle, a lunchtime Café, and more. For details, see dedicated post.
- Holiday Tree Party (10:30 am – 2:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Kids are invited to drop-in to enjoy refreshments and make ornaments to hang on the library holiday tree. Sponsored by the Friends of the Southborough Library.
- Holiday Book Sale (11:00 am – 3:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: The Friends of the Southborough Library will be holding a special sale with DVDs, CDs, and more. One free book per child.
- Winter Wonders Pottery Workshop (12:00 – 3:00 pm) @ 21 Highland St: Registration and a fee is required for this Recreation class for 10-15 yr olds to craft ornaments and gifts. For details, see dedicated post.

- Santa Day (10:00 am – 1:00 pm) @ Community House, 28 Main St: Free event for the community. See Santa arrive by helicopter (or fire engine in case of inclement weather). Then join him and Southborough Kindergroup at the Community House for activities and refreshments before kids share their wishes with Santa while posing for a picture. - DECA The Halls Craft Fair (10:00 am – 1:00 pm) @ Algonquin Regional High School Cafeteria, 79 Bartlett St, Northborough: Fair of local vendors selling only handmade goods. The event is a fundraiser for ARHS’ DECA program. To learn more, click here.
