Algonquin’s DECA chapter is tapping into its members’ strengths to put on a special fundraiser.1 Student organizers are inviting the public to shop at what they hope will be the first annual “DECA the Halls” craft fair this Sunday.

The event includes music, food, a gift wrapping station, and vendor booths with well over 30 local crafters.

DECA the Halls Holiday FairThe holiday fair is scheduled for December 7th from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. It will be held in Algonquin Regional High School’s Cafeteria, 79 Bartlett St, Northborough.

In addition to raising money through exhibitor fees, DECA will be selling pizza and hot chocolate, plus wrapping gifts for a small fee. (Shoppers are even encouraged to bring with them other previously purchased items to be wrapped.)

DECA’s dedicated Facebook page shows off a wide range of items vendors will be selling. Below are some examples. Click thumbnails for vendor details:

  1. For those unfamiliar with DECA, the program for high school (and college) students is focused on preparing “emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management”. Every year students participate in district competitions, usually with some moving on to states. The school even has a history of sending finalists to the international competition. You can follow ARHS’ chapter on Instagram here.
