Southborough Kindergroup is asking people to save the date and RSVP to participate in their annual community Easter Egg Hunt. This year, the event is moving to Trottier Middle School (49 Parkerville Road).
Organizers are asking families to pre-register the number of children who will be participating (by age) to help them plan the free fun.
While the Kindergroup event is a long running community tradition, there have been some changes over time. One thing that never changes is the core attractions — candy filled “eggs” and a visit with the giant, friendly rabbit.1
This spring, activities include free ones that were added to the fun last year — a DJ playing music, face painting (by Skyrise Theater), and refreshments.
The “Pre-Hunt” activities will begin at 10:00 am. That includes posing with the Easter Bunny. (Though, unlike their Santa Day event, families need to bring their own cameras/smartphones to capture the moment.)
As Kindergroup introduced last year, the egg hunts are now split by age groups. The youngest group, ages 0-3 years, will begin “promptly at 10:30 am”. That will be followed by 4-6 year olds, then ages 7+.
As always, families should bring their own baskets with them to collect the plastic eggs.
The free activities are made possible by their “generous Presenting Sponsor, Southborough Community Fund, and Bach to Rock as our Supporting Partner.”
The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 21st from 10:00 am – noon in the area of the school’s outdoor track. (My fingers are crossed that they get sunnier weather than they’ve experienced in recent years. But they do have a planned rain date for Sunday, March 22nd.)

- Note: I’m not counting the alternative, remote events held during the pandemic when in-person social gatherings were paused. (In 2020, Kindergroup invited the community to participate in an Easter Bunny themed scavenger hunt. In 2021, they added a “golden basket” prize to the scavenger hunt, plus drive thru visits with the Easter Bunny.)
