The three Algonquin varsity teams that kicked off their seasons last week had a rough or uneven start. Let’s hope for better success for the five Titans teams competing in season openers this week.
Boys Volleyball was the first ARHS team to compete in their season opener on Thursday afternoon. They lost the home game 3-1 to Fitchburg.
That evening, Girls Lacrosse opened strong with a 16-2 win at Groton-Dunstable Regional. Unfortunately, they followed that with a 5-16 loss at Acton-Boxborough on Saturday.
That same day, Boys Lacrosse also lost 6-16 when they opened their season at Natick.
Baseball, Softball, Rugby, Tennis, and Girls Golf* will all hold their season openers in the next few days. Most of their schedules include at least one home game this week.
