Next week, community members are invited to join a virtual workshop on “Understanding Teen Depression”. The session is geared to helping parents of Northborough and Southborough teens.

The workshop will take place over zoom on Tuesday, April 7th from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.

The talk will also feature a “special look at youth substance use.”

  • How to recognize depression in teens
  • How to communicate with teens about depression
  • How to find treatment and access resources
  • What substance misuse combined with depression looks like in teenagers

The event is put on by Families for Depression Awareness and sponsored by Encompass — a coalition of Northborough and Southborough town agencies and public school staff, focused on preventing and reducing substance misuse. It’s timed to take place during National Public Health Week.
