A reminder this Marathon Monday, that 18 Southborough residents are running in today’s big race. You can find my post with highlights here.
While I’m sharing that, I also want to spotlight another town connection to the race. Over the weekend, the Community Advocate published a writeup of a Southborough volunteer who has become a “Marathon Mainstay”.
The story focused on longtime resident Sally Watters who has been volunteering at the local event for over three decades.
According to the CA, Watters is the captain of the corral monitors, leading “100 volunteers who help ensure all runners are in the correct grouping when the race begins.”
She passed on her love of the race to her daughter. Amanda Watters, who grew up in Southborough, is running in her 22nd Boston Marathon today. You can read more about them here.
