[Highlights from last week’s competitions and what’s on tap this week in Algonquin Regional High School varsity sports.]

The wins improved their record to 8-3, but somehow their D1 Ranking fell 6 spots to #20.
Boys Tennis also won both of their games last week — 4-1 over Grafton and 5-0 over Auburn. Their record improved to 5-5 and they kept their #7 rank in Division 2.
Boys Baseball lost 6-14 to Shrewsbury and 3-8 to Shepherd Hill. In between, they beat Wachusett 11-1. They currently stand at 4-11 with an improved ranking of 39 for D1.
Softball’s record is 8-6 after losing 4-5 to Nashoba, but beating North Middlesex 16-3. Their D1 rank remains #36.
Both ARHS Lacrosse teams slid a smidge in their D2 rankings with the Girls ranked #25 and Boys #37. Last week the Girls lost 6-18 to Nashoba and 10-21 to Medfield, beating Leominster 14-4 in between. That updated their record to 7-8. The Boys updated their record to 1-14, adding three more losses to Nashoba (9-15), Groton-Dunstable Regional (8-9), and Wachusett (6-18).
In Rugby, the Boys moved up to #2 for D1. Last week they beat Blue Hills 17-5, updating their record to 3-1-1. The Girls have yet to win (or even tie) a game. They’re still ranked #7 out of 8 D1 teams. They lost to Needham 75-43 last week.
Boys Volleyball lost 3-2 to North Middlesex last Monday. But they beat Hopkinton 3-2. They now stand at 4-8 and a D1 power ranking of 58.
Last weekend, the Boys and Girls Outdoor Track teams competed at the Weston Twilight Invitational, where Charlotte Lipka won the High Jump and Clark Bezzant finished 2nd place in the 5000 Meters. This Saturday, the teams will compete in the Track & Field District Championships.
