When I was lurking around the set yesterday morning, there were only a handful of spectators watching the action. When I returned at the end of the day, it was a whole different scene. The TV camera crews, along with plenty of fans — largely school-aged kids, but adults too — were gathered around waiting Read the full article → from Fans line up to get a glimpse of the stars, and they’re not disappointed

Scenes from a Southborough movie set

First day of filming
The plan was to shoot outside the church today, but the cold, gray weather forced filming inside. I spent a couple of hours around the set this morning and was amazed at how close to the action I got. Onlookers were allowed free reign of the common in front of the church. I stood with Read the full article → from First day of filming
If you could ask the stars one question
Here’s a hypothetical to ponder on movie Monday: Say you’re sitting at Mauro’s enjoying a cup of coffee and Adam Sandler pops in to grab a cup to go, or Salma Hayek, or Chris Rock. (What? It could happen.) You manage to get your wits together in time to ask one question. What question would Read the full article → from If you could ask the stars one question

Hollywood comes to Southborough: Day 7
And on the seventh day they rested. All was relatively quiet on Southborough’s movie set today. A calm before tomorrow’s storm. Expect plenty of traffic and activity in town tomorrow. Hollywood comes to Southborough: Day 6
The big news for Saturday? Trailers. And lots of them. I passed a caravan of them heading into town on Framingham Road this morning. Others entered via Route 85. Most found their way to the lower parking lot at Woodward. The trailers at Woodward are the stars’ dressing rooms, and where hair and makeup will Read the full article → from Hollywood comes to Southborough: Day 6
Hollywood comes to Southborough: Day 5
In addition to landscaping work on Friday (notably around the church’s front entry), a long, low platform was built in the common in front of the church. The platform will support a crane that will be used to film a wide establishing shot of the church. Along Pilgrim’s west side, some scaffolding is in place. Filming starts next week – here’s the schedule
The stars arrive next week and no doubt things will get a little nutty around town. The area surrounding Pilgrim Church will be tightly controlled, so onlookers won’t be able to get too close. Hollywood comes to Southborough: Day 4
I got a break between raindrops and ran up to Pilgrim Church yesterday afternoon. The sod is down across St. Mark’s Street and things are looking quite pretty. Have a look for yourself. Hollywood comes to Southborough: Day 3
Church windows were washed on Wednesday, soil was spread across St. Mark’s Street in preparation for the sod, and more landscaping was put in place. I tried to get some interior shots of the church, but I wasn’t allowed in. And here I thought a church’s doors were always open. (That was a joke, by Read the full article → from Hollywood comes to Southborough: Day 3
