Town won’t request MSBA funding extension for Neary Project

Last night, the Southborough Select Board unanimously voted against requesting an extension on the state grant for the Neary Building Project.

That kills any remaining hope that project supporters had for building a new 4-grade school at Neary to open for the school year 2028-2029. But this doesn’t mean the end of the Towns’ efforts to pursue a school building project of some kind. At this point 8 of 9 seats have been appointed (and there’s news on who won’t be continuing in the 9th seat).
