Southborough Education Foundation awards $30K in grants

The Southborough Education Foundation (SEF) recently awarded more than $30K in grants to support innovative programs at each of the Southborough schools and Algonquin. Some of the grants were used to purchase technology like interactive whiteboards, a visible wavelength spectrometer, and even a Wii gaming system to be used for fitness programs. Good question: What’s up with the lawn in front of St. Mark’s?

I’ve had several readers ask me about the unusual mowing pattern on the St. Mark’s lawn this year. If you’ve driven down Main Street or Route 85, surely you’ve noticed that a large portion of the lawn has gone unmowed all spring, with the tallest of the blades now a good couple feet high. Algonquin students are sleepy, but happy

In a recent survey conducted by Algonquin’s Student Advisory Committee, 82% of Algonquin students reported they don’t get enough sleep. But junior Eddie Lowe from Northborough, one of the students who helped administer the survey, told the Regional School Committee Wednesday night that while students may be sleep deprived, they’re not unhappy.
