The annual Thanksgiving Day match up between Algonquin and Westborough will be all about bragging rights this year. Both sides are going into the game with a 1-9 record, so I don’t believe there are any playoff implications for either team, but no doubt the game with be spirited nonetheless. Postseason update: Algonquin field hockey falls in state semi-finals in OT
It was a heartbreaker at Foley Stadium last night. The Algonquin girls field hockey team lost in sudden-death overtime in the state semifinal game after Longmeadow scored on a lucky bounce with only 2:31 left to play. The final was 1-0.
