I take a lot of walks at the Beals Preserve, on quiet trails that wind through 55 acres of woods and old pastures. But my walk there last Friday was like none other, because on that morning the usual tranquility of that parcel of nature was wonderfully disrupted by the whoops and shouts of 29 very enthusiastic school children. Candidates for selectmen talk transparency, fiscal issues

Last night was the first of two meet-the-candidate events in the run-up to town elections on Monday, May 10. Save the date: 2nd Annual Billy Webber Memorial Golf Tournament

The Second Annual Billy Webber Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at Juniper Hill Golf Course in Northborough on Monday, June 21. The tournament is in honor of Southborough’s former police chief William Webber who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in November 2008 at the age of 53. Selectman defends investigation of town employees

Chairman of the Board of Selectmen Sal Giorlandino has responded to the recent disclosure that the board launched an internal investigation of several town employees last fall. In an email sent this morning, Giorlandino said selectmen voted unanimously to initiate the investigation, and that they were required to do so under the town’s professional conduct policy.
