Southborough kids enjoy extraterrestrial magic show

I took the wee one to the Southborough Library last Friday to check out the Planets Magic Show by Debbie O’Carroll. The place was packed despite the fact that it was one of the few dry mornings that week. I snapped these shots of the show.

In the media: Foundation honors sisters by promoting safe driving

The Worcester Telegram & Gazette reports that the Murphy Sisters’ Foundation recently made several donations in honor of Algonquin students and Southborough residents Shauna and Meghan Murphy, who were killed in a car accident in 2005.
To promote safe driving, the foundation donated $5,000 to Christo’s Driving School to subsidize the cost of In Control Advanced

Selectmen adopt looser residency requirement for police chief

A few weeks ago, I told you selectmen had made a decision about residency requirements for Southborough’s new police chief. Turns out that wasn’t the case. What I thought was a decision was only a discussion. The actual decision wasn’t made until last week.

Why flags were at half-staff on Friday

Governor Deval Patrick requested flags be lowered to half-staff across the state on Friday for Master Sergeant Kevin A. Dupont who died on Wednesday, June 17 of wounds suffered earlier this year in Kandau, Afghanistan.
