Library end of summer party moved to new location

The Southborough Library had a packed schedule of reading events for kids this summer, but the July rainstorm that flooded the children’s room set them scrambling to make new arrangements for many of those events.
Most notably, the end of summer Outer Space Party scheduled for Friday, August 14 will be held at the Southborough Arts

In the media: Local couple fights cystic fibrosis

The Metrowest Daily News has an inspiring profile of Southborough resident Sean McCarthy and his wife Christine. The 44-year-old Sean battles cystic fibrosis, a disease that took the life of his sister in 2002. As for Christine, she’s a uterine cancer survivor.
The couple is active in raising money for both cystic fibrosis and cancer research.

Selectmen meeting broadcast on public access channel

Last week’s marathon Board of Selectmen meeting was broadcast several times this weekend — anyone catch it? — and will be broadcast a few more times this week on Charter channel 12 and Verizon channel 37. Here’s the schedule:

The week in government

On Tuesday, selectmen meet to interview a candidate for a police officer position. On Thursday the Historical Commission and Municipal Facilities Committee meet to try to iron out their differences over proposals for a new police station.
