Algonquin girls field hockey wins district championship

by susan on November 11, 2010

I just got word that the Algonquin girls field hockey team won the Division 1 Central championship this afternoon. They beat out top-ranked Quabbin by a score of 1-0 at Foley Stadium. Southborough resident Emily Stevenson scored the lone goal.

The girls now move on to the state semi-finals. They’ll play the winner of the Western Division — either Longmeadow or South Hadley — next Tuesday at Holyoke College.

Congrats to the team!
