My Southborough reader Margo sent in a photo of the morel mushroom bounty she found this week right in her own backyard. She said the mushrooms are very good at camouflage, but she discovered them hiding in her yard quite close to her house.

Paint murals to benefit Boston bombing victims on Sunday

Southborough resident Lanting Huang-Truong is calling on her artistic talents to benefit victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. Owner of the Bigelow Center for the Arts, Lanting has organized a community mural project, with the murals to be auctioned off and proceeds donated to The One Fund Boston.

The long-awaited Main Street reconstruction project is one step closer to reality. Town Administrator Mark Purple announced last week the project has been placed on the draft three-year Transportation Improvement Plan put together by the Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization. While that’s good news, Purple said if the draft is approved, the earliest the project is likely to get underway is fiscal year 2017.

Longtime Conservation Commission member recognized
