Senior Center to reopen Monday

If you are a senior in town who has missed  hanging out at Cordaville Hall,  I have good news.

The long-awaited reopening of the Southborough Senior Center is scheduled for this Monday, August 3. Summer hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 3:00 pm.

The center closed in June for major renovations. Work includes a complete rehab of the kitchen, hall, sitting and library area, and bathroom with new cabinets, applicances, painting, and new floors.

Unfortunately, they took about 3 weeks longer than originally anticipated. The renovations aren’t fully complete. Still, enough is done to allow reopening the doors for senior programs.

For now, the kitchen is still off limits for some finishing work. (Its floor still needs installing and appliances need hooking up.)

Meanwhile, regular social programs will resume at the facility on Monday.

Summer offerings include bocce, pitch, mah jongg, cribbage, bridge, canasta and pool (as in billiards, not swimming!) It looks like the Dull Men’s Club is also expected to reconvene next Friday.

For more details on programs, check out the Senior Center website or their summer newsletter.
