This September, Pope Francis will address United States Congress. Our U.S. Representative, Katherine Clark, is offering her constituents an opportunity to attend.

To be selected, you first have to inspire the Congresswoman through an essay:

ESSAY COMPETITION

Would you like to accompany me to hear Pope Francis address Congress in September?

On September 24, Pope Francis will deliver the first-ever address by a leader of the Holy See to a joint session of Congress.

Each Member of Congress may invite one person to attend this historic event, and I’d like to invite a member of the community whose story, life, or life’s work embodies the message of social justice offered by Pope Francis.

In no more than 500 words, tell us why you, or someone in your life, should join me for the Pope’s address.

DEADLINE: All essays must be submitted by 5pm on Thursday, August 20.

ESSAY GUIDELINES: Responses should not exceed 500 words. Please submit essays and questions to CongresswomanClarkPress@gmail.com
