Cars smashed into in Northborough and Westborough

Above: It’s not located in Southborough. But the site of a reported early weeknight crime looks a lot like a plaza in town. (image of Post Road Marketplace cropped from Google Maps)

Normally, I don’t report news from other towns. But since similar crimes have been reported in two towns bordering us, I thought I should post a warning.

Southborough Wicked Local reports that thieves stole laptops, ipads, backpack, etc from cars in a Northborough parking lot. They were literally smash and grabs.

The brazen crimes didn’t happen during the midnight hours in a “sketchy” part of tow . They happened on a Tuesday evening between 5:20 – 6:45 pm. And the site, Post Road Marketplace at 318 Main Street, is on a well traveled stretch of Route 20 just around the corner from Algonquin.

According to the article similar crimes were reported in Westborough recently.

So, at the risk of sounding like my mother, here’s my reminder –

Don’t leave bags or valuables in plain sight in your car. (Let someone else’s car be the tempation.)

Note: If you happen to have information about the crime, please contact Northborough Police at 508-393-1515.
