Southborough seniors are invited to hike (and climb) this spring with the Trailblazers. (No real trail blazing will be necessary, since these are all established hiking grounds.)

The active senior group has announced another round of activities for May and June.

The following events are open to all seniors, and half are for free. For each, meet at the Southborough Senior Center to carpool at the time listed below:

  • Trailblazers programs May - summer

Dana Common Hike (Tuesday, May 22nd, 9:00 am) Carpool to a hike, followed by a picnic lunch. Suggested Donation: $5

  • Bay Circuit Trail Hike (Thursday, May 31st, 1:00 pm) Carpool to the next North section of trail. (This is one of a series of hikes on the trail for the group.) Carl Guyer will lead the hike.
  • Purgatory Chasm Hike (Wednesday, June 13th, 9:30 am) Carpool to a hike. This trail includes climbing some difficult rocky areas. Followed by a picnic lunch. Suggested Donation: $5
  • Bay Circuit Trail Hike (Thursday, June 21st, 1:00 pm) Carpool to the next section of trail. (This is one of a series of hikes on the trail for the group.) Carl Guyer will lead the hike.

The group has also organized free boating at Hopkinton State Park for senior again this summer. You can find those details in the flyer right.

(Note: The Trailblazers also organized two other events – horseback riding today and pedal cars along Narragansett Bay in July – but they had limited capacity and filled up quickly.)
