Senior Tai Chi this summer

Above: Fall through spring, the Southborough Senior Center hosts Tai Chi classes. In the summer, advanced practitioners can enjoy classes down the street at the Library.

In the summertime, as many take off for other places, the Southborough Senior Center pares down it’s regular weekly classes a bit*. This summer, that again means that there will be no senior Tai Chi at the center. But one of the classes has found a new home again for the summer – the Southborough Library.

(click to enlarge)The Southborough Library is once again happy to host our annual series of Advanced Tai Chi sessions upstairs in our Main Floor programming space. These sessions are taught by Jeanne Friswell, who regularly works with the Southborough Senior Center to offer the classes September through June. Library sessions welcome adult and young adult tai chi enthusiasts.

To start off summer, sessions will be held every other Tuesday on July 10 and July 24 at 10:15 AM to 11:45 PM. These sessions are advanced – it is designed for participants who have taken tai chi workshops previously. Sessions are open to the general public. Click for August Tai Chi Flyer.

*While Tai Chi, Yoga and Fitness programs are taking a break from the Senior Center this summer – there are still plenty of other programs going on in July and August. You can check out their summer newsletter here and the insert here.
