Gobble Wobble results and fun

As I’ve previously posted, the annual Gobble Wobble went virtual this year. Participants were encouraged to walk or run 5K anytime the week of Thanksgiving. This Monday, Recreation posted some photos shared by residents and the results.

Out of the 46 participants who submitted their times, the fastest was Andrew Weinstein. Krystine Darling was the fastest reported female.

Of course, not everyone treated the event as a race. It has always been an event that welcomed families with kids and this year was no exception. Photos posted to Facebook show that some used local trails to enjoy a 5K hike. Below are some pics from Facebook, starting with organizers who helped give out t-shirts and materials to registered participants.

As always, the event raised funds for the Friends of Southborough Recreation. This year Rec promoted:

100% of proceeds will be collected and put towards program scholarships for Southborough Recreation after school programs, summer camp programming, and miscellaneous recreation offerings.

On Facebook, Rec shared a thanks to the community for its support:

Thank you to all who ran, walked, and wobbled their 5k this past week! So great to hear families keeping the Gobble Wobble tradition alive and so many taking part out of state (and time zone) safely! Thank you for all the continued support! Friends of the Southborough Recreation Department, Inc. (FOSR)
