Visit the Big Apple: NYC day trip on Dec 4

Local Rec departments are offering a chance to see NYC lit up for the holidays, without making the drive yourself.

New York City is welcoming back tourists and Christmas shopping season is almost here. In a month, Recreation is again offering residents a chance to join the sightseers without making the long drive and searching for parking.

Southborough Rec teamed up another Town again to offer a day trip to NYC.* This year’s jaunt takes place on Saturday, December 4th. The deadline to register is the day before, but the event is capped at 52 people and open to non-residents.

The trip is for ages 12+ and all travelers must have proof of vaccination.** Those under 18 must also be accompanied by an adult.

A Silver Fox Tours motor coach will pick up and drop off from Melican Middle School (145 Lincoln Street, Northborough). The bus will depart at 6:30 am and return by about 10:30 pm. That will give visitors several hours to make the most of the city:

At last, a chance for you to get away to New York City! Get an early start on your Holiday shopping, spend the day sight- seeing, or visit the world class museums. From the world’s largest department stores to the finest restaurants and Broadway, the Big Apple has it ALL!!! Drop off will be at Rockefeller Center (subject to change). The Rockefeller Christmas Tree will be on display for your viewing pleasure! . . . An itinerary with more information will be mailed to you before the trip.

The trip costs $89 per person. To register, click here.

*In the past, they partnered with Ashland Rec. This year, it’s Northborough Rec.

**Vaccination proof can be your card or a photo of it.
