Small fire forces evacuation of Town Center Plaza

A small fire at Eros Gourmet Pizza & Deli forced the evacuation of the Town Center Plaza last Friday.Smoke from the fire, caused by an item left on the stove too long,activated the smoke detector which then sounded an alarm throughout the complex.

There’s no denying it’s been one wet week. Fire Chief John Mauro Jr. has been measuring the precipitation at the fire station and reports that since the storms began earlier this week,they’ve had over 4.5 inches of water.

Eaton Apothecary broken into again

The Metrowest Daily News reports Eaton Apothecary was broken into again on Tuesday night. It’s the second time in three months. Back in November someone threw a rock through a plate glass window to enter the store. Police Chief Jane Moran said there’s no indication yet that the two incidents were related.

Every year the Southborough Fire Department practices ice and water rescues. That’s a good thing for a town with as much water as we have. But something tells me the rescue they undertook yesterday isn’t the sort of thing they were training for.

Southborough teen denied bail on murder charge

Southborough resident Christopher Manoloules, 18, was denied bail last week on charges that he murdered his uncle in Hyannis last September.
The Metrowest Daily News reports Manoloules’ attorney, Gerald Alch, told the judge his client had no motive for the murder.
