Join the Northborough/Southborough Relay for Life team

relay-for-life-logoWalking around and around an outdoor track for 24 hours straight may not sound like much fun, but believe me it is. At least, when it’s part of the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.

I participated in a Rely For Life event several years ago. I came away from it with a few blisters and a whole lot of satisfaction. A Northborough/Southborough team is forming this year, and now is your chance to join. The team is holding a kick-off meeting Wednesday night at Woodward at 6:00 pm.

Here’s how the American Cancer Society describes the event on their website:

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It offers everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are an overnight event, up to 24 hours in length.

Honor someone you know who has battled cancer and help raise money for a cure by joining the Northborough/Southborough team. At the kick-off meeting on Wednesday you’ll meet other team members and hear about plans for the upcoming season. Refreshments will be served (what more incentive do you need?).

If you plan on attending please RSVP to Kathleen Kelly (email).
