Saying farewell to Mr. Wrenn

Algonquin music director Dennis Wrenn was laid to rest at Pine Grove cemetery in Grafton this morning. Services were held beforehand at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Buses carried Algonquin students to the funeral.

On a Facebook tribute page to Mr. Wrenn, his daughter Elizabeth Nichols thanked those who attended the funeral today. “It was so beautiful. He would have been so proud!”

Yesterday a steady stream of mourners turned out for Mr. Wrenn’s wake in Auburn. The line to enter the funeral home stretched through the parking lot and around a bend. Some waited as long as three hours to pay their respects.

A musical tribute is in the works for later this month. I’ll share more details once they’re available. Donations are also being accepted for a music scholarship set up in Mr. Wrenn’s name.

Hi! I am Dennis’ daughter, and I was wondering if you would email me the jpegs for the pictures you took. We don’t have any pictures from outside of the wake or funeral, but it would be really nice for us to have to add to a memory album we’re working on with the kids. Thank you, and I hope to have more information for the Memorial Musical Tribute later this week!
