Since we’re identifying critters this week, anyone know what kind of butterfly this is? I spotted it while on a walk through the woods a few weeks ago.
And this guy was enjoying the peonies on my deck.

The bee is a tough one. I was going to say a bald-faced hornet because of the white banding. But the white-bands do not appear on the head, which looks green.
