With the special town meeting next week, it’s not surprising that many town committees will spend their time preparing this week. The Advisory Committee and Board of Selectmen meet separately on Monday to talk about town meeting. They’ll also meet jointly on Tuesday to sync up articles that require funding, like the new ladder truck.
And speaking of the ladder truck, there will be a public forum sponsored by the Ladder Truck Committee on Wednesday.
The other big meeting this week is a special sessions of both the Southborough and Regional School Committees for the purpose of electing new members after the resignation of Paul Gaffney. That meeting happens on Wednesday.

Where does the Police Chief search Committee stand ? There has been no news for a while. Have interviews started ?
I believe they have started interviews, but I’m not positive. They’ve been meeting in executive session which is closed to the public. Last I heard, their goal was to give the Board of Selectmen a list of recommended candidates sometime in October.
I heard a rumor someone on the committee resighned. Does anyone know about this.
I haven’t heard anything about that. I was hoping to ask selectmen about it after their meeting tonight, but I didn’t get the chance.
