The third annual Gobble Wobble will be held next week on Thanksgiving morning, and organizers are asking race participants to do a little extra giving of thanks.

Whether running, walking, or wobbling, participants are encouraged to bring a personal care or food item to send to troops overseas. For each item donated, you’ll get a free raffle ticket and a chance to win gift cards or goods from local merchants including British Beer Company, Tomasso’s, Panzano’s, Trombetta’s Farm, Southboro House of Pizza, Eros, Sperry’s, Mauro’s Market & Café, English Garden Florist, Domino’s, and Yummy Mummy Brownies. You can see a list of donation items here.

Raffle tickets will also be sold for $1 each or $5 for 10.

If you haven’t registered for the Gobble Wobble yet, there’s still time. Online registration closes on November 24. You can also sign up the day of the race (November 26) starting at 7:00 am at Trottier. The 5K race/2K walk starts at 8:30 am. The kids fun run starts at 9:30 am.

And if you need some additional incentive, here’s something I just noticed on the event flyer: race day refreshments will be provided by Dunkin Donuts and the British Beer Company. The British Beer Company? It really is going to be a wobble.
