Think green: Bargain Box open for spring season

You’ve probably heard that the 40th anniversary of Earth Day is Thursday. When it comes to the mantra Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, that second R is a particularly good one. An excellent spot to look for reusable items is the Bargain Box on Main Street. It’s a place where being green can save you some green (cash, that is).

Located next to St. Mark’s Church, the Bargain Box has been in operation for six decades. It’s open twice a year — once in the fall and once in the spring — and features clothing for men, women, and kids. Bargain Box proceeds benefit St. Mark’s parish.

The shop is open on Thursdays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm through June 3. It’s also open on Sundays from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm (closed Mother’s Day, May 9, and Memorial Day Sunday, May 30). They’ll hold half-price sale days on May 23, May 27, and June 3. An end-of-season bag rummage sale will be held on Sunday, June 6.
