If you’re like me, you received a call recently from an organization soliciting donations for troops from Southborough. VFW Commander Stephen Whynot wants residents to be aware that the group is not affiliated with the town in any way.
“The veterans from Southborough are NOT soliciting by phone for collections to support any troop drive,” he wrote in an email.
Southborough residents Lisa Braccio and Debbie Depp-Wilson organize twice-yearly troop drives held at the Southborough Senior Center, but the group making the phone calls is not affiliated with that effort.
Whynot suggests residents use caution if they’re contacted by the organization.
