Southborough police get some help from a 4-legged friend

Some of you might remember the days way back when the Southborough Police Department had its own police dog. These days when help of the 4-legged variety is needed, Southborough calls on the support of its neighbors.

Case in point earlier this week when a man interrupted a burglary-in-process at his mother’s Northboro Road home. The suspect fled before police arrived, so a K-9 from Ashland was called in to track him down.

The dog, Dax, found the suspect in a neighbor’s barn, however apparently he did not go quietly. According to (Southborough Police Sgt. Tim Slatkavitz), the dog bit the suspect at some point during the arrest.

You can read all the details in the Metrowest Daily News.

Go Dax! maybe a possible dog-bite would be an increased deterrent.

We should create a fund to buy Dax a bullet proof vest. Way
