Cops think speed and alcohol was a factor in Jericho Hill Road crash

A single-car rollover on Jericho Hill Road that sent two Marlborough men to the hospital on Saturday night may have been caused by excess speed and alcohol, Southborough police told the Metrowest Daily News.

Southborough Police Sgt. Timothy Slatkavipz [sic] said it appeared speed was a factor in the crash, which was called in to police at 9:01 p.m. Saturday. He said preliminary investigations also indicate alcohol was likely involved.

Fire Chief John Mauro Jr. said the car, a 2004 Honda Civic, left the roadway and struck some trees before landing on its side in knee-deep snow. Two men were in the car. One was able to get out on his own, but the other had to be extricated with the Jaws of Life. One of the men had what Mauro described as life-threatening injuries.
