Yesterday I told you about ensembles from Algonquin that have been acquiring accolades this month. Today it’s Trottier’s turn. Here’s the announcement from the Northborough-Southborough Music Association:

Southborough’s Trottier Middle School Band and Orchestra, under the direction of the incomparable Jamison Clark, continued their astonishing season by earning medals at the Massachusetts Instrumental & Choral Conductors Association (MICCA) Annual Concert Festival in Wrentham earlier this month. The Seventh and Eighth Grade Concert Band received silver, while the Orchestra and Sixth Grade Concert Band received bronze medals.

“The kids played their hearts out,” Clark said, adding that while they always strive for gold, “this year’s competition was exceptional.”

The mission of MICCA is to encourage and support high performance standards for high school, middle school, and elementary school musical organizations. The festival helps improve performance by providing musical adjudication by highly qualified judges. After each performance, the ensembles meet with a judge who works with the students on the pieces they have just performed.
