CSX to go before the Westborough Planning Board next Tuesday

For those of you following progress of the proposed CSX chemical transfer station off Flanders Road, CSX will go before the Westborough Planning Board next week to talk site preparation. Here are the details:

The Westborough Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Tues. June 7 at 7:00 pm, Room 23, Forbes Municipal Bldg 45 W. Main St. Westborough on TRANSFLO’S special permit application for Earth Moving and Clearing of Property on 19 Walkup Drive. They are requesting permission to move: approx 100,000 cubic yards of clean material onto the site to complete site preparation for the initial phase of construction and 50,000 cubic yards of material for a future expansion phase of the project; and move 2,000 Cubic yards of existing material within the site. Copy of the plan are available for review at the Westborough Planning Board office or Westborough Town Clerk office.

The proposed chemical transfer site would be located less than a mile from the Southborough border. Residents have expressed concern about safety, increased traffic, and the potential environmental impact.
