UPDATED: Southborough CERT/MRC collecting donations for tornado victims

Last week I told you about efforts by the Southborough Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) to aid victims of the tornadoes earlier this month. Now they’re taking it a step further and they’re asking for your help.

Now through July 10, the two organizations are collecting goods and monetary donations to be distributed directly to tornado victims.

Check out the flyer below for a list of items that are needed. You can drop them off at the Southborough Fire Station (21 Main Street) through July 8 from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, and on July 9-10 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Checks or money orders (no cash please) made payable to CERT & MRC of Southborough, Inc. can be mailed to PO Box 685, Southborough, MA 01772. Monetary donations cannot be accepted at the Fire Station, so please mail them instead. Southborough CERT & MRC is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

For more information, see the flyer below (click to enlarge) or download a printable version (PDF).

Update 1:15 pm: CERT/MRC says they’re no longer accepting mattresses, televisions, and large appliances.

Update 4:45 pm: Updated flyers showing what is accepted now posted below and via the link above.
