Join a talented cast of Algonquin students as they present the “hip, tongue-in-cheek, anachronistic fairy tail” that is Pippin. The show opens on Thursday night, with additional performances on Friday and Saturday.

Algonquin English teacher Tom Alera, who is directing the performance, passed along some information, including this description of the show:

PIPPIN is a musical about a young prince in search of the meaning of life.

Once upon a time, a young prince longed to discover the secret of true happiness and fulfillment. He sought it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father King Charlemagne the Great).

PIPPIN is a hip, tongue-in-cheek, anachronistic fairy tale that captivated Broadway audiences by storm. The musical bursts with one show stopping number after another as well as infectious dance numbers.

Sounds fun, right? Performances will take place at the Algonquin auditorium on Thursday through Saturday (December 8-10). The show starts at 7:00 pm each night. Tickets are $10 and can be reserved in advance by emailing arhstickets@gmail.com.
