Resident scares off two men trying to break into Ward Road home yesterday

It was a frightening afternoon for one Ward Road resident yesterday. Here are the details from the Southborough Police Department Facebook page:

On Thursday, 12/29/11 at approximately 3:58 p.m., Southborough Officers responded to a Ward Road residence for a report of an attempted burglary that had just occurred while one of the residents was at home. The resident reported that two Caucasian males broke a glass pane in the kitchen door, and then attempted to reach in to unlock the door from the inside. The resident came to the door, startling the suspects, who then fled the scene. Officers checked the area and requested assistance from the Ashland K9 unit, but were unable to locate the suspects. It is believed that they fled west on Ward Road.

The suspects were described as:

Two white males in their twenties:

The first suspect had dark hair, and was wearing blue jeans and a blue hooded sweatshirt.

The second suspect had hair that came down past his ears, and was wearing blue jeans and a light colored T-shirt.

If you have any information that could assist in locating these two suspects, please contact Detective McCarthy at the Southborough Police Department (508) 485-2121.
