Obituary: Mary L. Stadig – February 27, 2012

Mary L. (Hartnett) Stadig, 90, of Southborough and formerly of Ashland, died at home surrounded by her family on Monday morning, February 27, 2012.

She was the wife of the late Ralph Stadig, who passed away in 1974.

Mary was a nurse and worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston for many years until she retired in 1986. She was a member of the Tsunami Masters Swim Team at the YWCA in Framingham and earned numerous medals in swimming at the Senior Games. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Burns and her husband Brian of Auburn; Deborah Baker of Southborough; a son in law, William Baker of Falmouth, ME; her granddaughters, Caitlin Gildart and her husband Andrew of Portland, ME; Jennifer Valentine and her husband Stephen of Grafton; and her great granddaughter, Reagan Valentine.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 29, from 4 to 7 PM at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 1st at 9 AM at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 54 Esty St., Ashland, burial will follow in the Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.
