Snow is on the way, but how much will we get?

It looks like the first real snow event of the winter is headed our way – finally! – but it remains to be seen how much of the white stuff we’ll get.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will start sometime after 2:00 pm today, changing to rain and snow after midnight. Precipitation is expected to change back to snow tomorrow morning.

I talked with Superintendent Charles Gobron at last night’s selectmen meeting (more on that in an upcoming post), and he says he’ll be monitoring the situation and will be prepared to make a go/no-go decision on school tomorrow morning.

So, just how much snow will we get? Your guess is as good as mine. The National Weather Service has us pegged at a whopping 6 to 8 inches.

WBZ-TV says it will be more like 3 to 6 inches.

And if you go with Channel 7 news, we’re only at 2 to 5 inches.

So, who do you believe? Are you getting your snow blowers ready? Or do think the whole thing will be a big bust? What’s your prediction on whether the kids will have school tomorrow? Sound off in the comments.
