Joseph Mauro will be sworn in as Southborough’s new fire chief in a ceremony at the Town House tomorrow evening.  The swearing-in comes 14 months after brother John Mauro Jr. announced his intention to retire from the top position after 38 years on the force.

For his part, Joseph Mauro has been with the Southborough Fire Department for 31 years. He was named fire chief last month by unanimous vote of the Board of Selectmen after a protracted search process.

The ceremony will take place at the start of the Board of Selectmen meeting tomorrow at 6:00 pm in the Town House Hearing Room (second floor). It’s open to the public, so feel free to come and wish Mauro well.
