Obituary: Joseph Robert Creasia, 74

CHELSEA – Joseph Robert Creasia, 74, of Chelsea, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

He was born in Uxbridge son of the late Theresa (Merolli) Creasia who died in 1987 and the late Nicholas Creasia who died in 1976. He was predeceased by his brother Nicholas Creasia of Franklin who died in 1992 and his sister Eleanor (Creasia) Hurd of Blackstone who died in 2004.

He was a veteran of the US Navy serving on the USS Iowa for four years, He was employed at Burgess and Blaker Roofing Company of Boston and the US Post Office in Boston. He was an avid Red Sox Fan and enjoyed watching all sporting events. He had a great love for the ocean and enjoyed salt water fishing of all kinds.

He is survived by one daughter Julie Creasia of Whitinsville, four sisters Mary Braccio of Southborough, Vera Cassinelli of Milford, Jacqueline Lomuicco of Webster, Theresa Twist of Franklin, five brothers Mathew Creasia of Mendon, John Creasia of North Smithfield, Francis Creasia, Louis Creasia and James Creasia all of Bellingham.

The funeral service will be held Monday, March 12, 2012 at 9 A.M. at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford, MA. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 A.M. in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main St., Milford, MA. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
