Southborough’s new town administrator Mark Purple is scheduled to start work on October 18, Interim Town Administrator Vanessa Hale said yesterday. Purple was singled out by Selectmen after a multi-month search to replace Town Administrator Jean Kitchen who retired in June.
Chairman of the Board of Selectmen John Rooney said last week the board had met with Purple several times since offering him the position in August, working to reach agreement on a contract. Purple and the selectmen signed off on the contract yesterday according to Hale.
Purple is currently the interim town manager in Ashland.
I bet he never wears purple.
