Fundraising meeting for new Algonquin turf field and track – Wednesday, March 27

Late last year, a group of “enthusiastic volunteers” kicked off an initiative that aims to install a new turf field, track, and stadium at Algonquin. Planning is underway, and organizers invite anyone interested in the project to a community meeting on Wednesday to discuss fundraising efforts.

The track and turf project is an effort to improve conditions at the Algonquin sports complex. Those leading the initiative say it’s also an attempt to comply with a new MIAA policy that will allow only schools with turf fields to host postseason play.

Check out the flyer below for more information on the project and the community meeting on Wednesday. Organizers are also scheduled to share information on the project with the Southborough Board of Selectmen at their meeting on Tuesday. The agenda item is scheduled to begin at 7:00 pm. You can attend the presentation in person at the Town House, or watch it on public access television (Verizon channel 37 or Charter channel 12).
